ODESSA, Texas - The Howard Payne men's tennis team fell 9-0 to NCAA D-II the University of Texas at the Permian Basin Friday in non-conference action.

Even though the score ended with a 9-0 UT-Permian Basin win, the Jackets did have some highly contested matches. Jeremy Rodriguez and Luis Vallecillo would fall 9-8 (8-6) in number one doubles action.

Vallecillo would also lose narrowly in number one singles play 3-6, 6-4, 10-7.

The Jackets are now 2-6 overall on the year and will play next on April 5th in Brownwood versus Schreiner University at 2:00 pm.
