MARSHALL, TX - Balanced scoring by HPU starters provided a great team effort and moves HPU to 5-3 (4-2 ASC) on the season.

The Jackets shot a red hot 64.5% from the floor in the first half, but the great play of ETBU's Cedric and Chris Isom's 12 points each kept the game close. HPU's lead was 11 at the 8:17 mark in the first half, but HPU took a 51-45 lead at the break.

In the second, HPU increased their lead to 13 (65-52) on a layup by Jr. F Sean Wheeler(San Angelo-Lake-View HS) with 13:22 left in the game. ETBU did rally back to tie the score at 71-71 with 6:18 in the game on a jumper by ETBU's Cedric Isom. HPU was able to build another slight lead and hold on for the win 85-82.

For the second time in two games HPU had all starters in double digits in scoring. Jr. G Kendrick Johnson(Willowridge HS)  and Sr. C Cliff McGuire(Haskel HS) both had 16 with McGuire grabbing a team high 10 rebounds. So. G Jamarcus Johnson(Beaver County CC), So. F Sean Wheeler, and Sr. G Matt Zinser(Burnet HS) scored 14, 14, and 10 respectively. 

The Jackets will play again on December 17, 2005 at home against Sul Ross State.
