BROWNWOOD, TX...HPU volleyball team played solid and had a strong presence at the net to beat the Univ. of Mary Hardin-Baylor 3-1. The Lady Jacket would have a total of 21 blocks as a team.

In the first game HPU jumped on UMHB opening up a big lead, winning the game 30-18.

2nd game HPU jumped out to another big lead. UMHB got back in it at 27-25 HPU. The Lady Jackets held them off and won 30-27 HPU.

The Lady Jackets dropped the 3rd game on poor hitting, 30-19 UMHB

In the 4th game it was a close game all the way. Very strong play at the net lifted the Lady Jackets pass UMHB 30-21, with a strong rally by HPU in the end.

Top performers for HPU were Jr. MB Destiny Barry(Burnet HS) with 10 kills on 25 att, a .320 avg., she also had 8 blocks(1 solo) and So. OH Katie Preuss(Comfort HS) with 13 kills on 23 att, a .522 avg, she also had 7 blocks(3 solo). Defensively, Fr. L Missy Dennis(SA-Clemens) had 28 digs.

For UMHB Lacey Williams and Amanda Crawford both have 11 kills. Stephanie Little had 41 assists.
