BROWNWOOD, TX - The Yellow Jackets only let the game be close for about 7 minutes then built a 12 point lead at the half. The Jackets at one time had a 27 point lead before winning 86-64.

HPU took 23 more shots on the night, brought on by great defense as the Jackets nabbed 17 steals. HPU shot 47.8% on the night(56.3% in the first half) to 43.2% by Austin College. HPU out rebounded AC 39 to 27 on the boards.

Four Jackets posted double digits in scoring. Sr. G Matt Zinser(Burnet HS) lead all scorers with 19 and 5 steals. Jr. G Kendrick Johnson(Willowridge HS) had 18, Jr. F Sean Wheeler(San Angelo-Lake View HS) had 14, and Sr. C Cliff McGuire( Haskel HS) 11 points and 14 rebounds.

The leading scorer for AC was Holman with 11 and AC's top rebounder was Hammons with 7 boards.

The HPU Jackets will be back in action this Saturday at 3pm verses the University of the Ozarks in the Brownwood Coliseum.
