BROWNWOOD, TX...The HPU volleyball team start the 2005 campaign this weekend at the Wayland Baptist University "Coca-Cola" Classic in Plainview, TX. There HPU will take on Wayland Baptist, College of the Southwest, University of Texas-Permian Basin, and Midwestern State University.
On Friday, Sept. 2, HPU will play Wayland at 2pm and College of the Southwest at 6pm. Then the next day, Saturday, Sept. 3, HPU will play Univ. of Texas-Permian Basin at 2pm and Midwestern Sate at 6pm.
The Howard Payne University Yellow Jacket Volleyball team finished the 2004 season with a record of 8-20, a 5th place tie with Concordia University at Austin. HPU placed two players on the All-West ASC list, Jr. MB Destiny Barry and Jr. OH Sandra Fish both received All-West ASC Honorable Mention. The volleyball team will return 6 players for the 2005 season along with a new coach, Christina Brown.
