BROWNWOOD, TX...HPU had the lead in two games but was unable to hold on and loses to the Sul Ross State Lobos in three games.

HPU had the lead in the second and third games, and ball handling errors by the Jackets allowed the Lobos to take the games. Offensively HPU was led by Jr OH Sandra Fish(Burnet HS) with 10 kills on 34 att., a .206pct and Jr. MB Destiny Barry(Burnet HS) had 8 kills on 23 att., a .304pct., she also had 4 blocks (3 solo and 1 assist). Defensively HPU standouts were Fr. L Missy Dennis(San Antonio-Clemens HS) with 18 digs and Fr S Patricia Brown(Tomball HS) with 15 digs and 15 assists.

Sul Ross was lead by Athena Rivas with 13 kills on 21 att., a .524 pct., and Raeanne Villalva's 11 kills on 43 att, a .116 pct.. Also S Lillian Chavez had 27 assists.
