BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Lady Jackets improvement continues losing 4-0, but the Yellow Jackets win big with a 4-1 victory over 5th place Mississippi College on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Jackets played Mississippi tight for most of the game but ran out of steam at the end falling 4-0. HPU gave up 3 second period goals.
Sr. GK Heather Parrish (Goldthwaite) played the entire game in goal for the Lady Jackets recording 6 saves. She currently has 119 saves on the season.
On the men's side, it was Mississippi College who got the first goal in the game in the 40th minute of the game.
HPU answered back and scored 4 unanswered goals in the second half to take the victory 4-1. Four different Jackets scored in the game- Fr. MF Dennis Benitez (Carrollton) in the 47th minute, Fr. F Blake Holly (Sulphur Springs) in the 53rd minute, Fr. Joel King (Trinidad) in the 65th minute, and Fr. MF Hugo Uribe (Greenville) in the 85th minute.
Fr. GK Malcolm Framjee (Conroe) played the entire game in goal and recorded 7 saves for the Jackets.
The Yellow Jackets will be in action again at home tomorrow against Louisiana College, it will be 1:00pm (women) and 3:00pm (men) start times.
