HPU Too Much For LeTourneau

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Lady Jackets held visiting LeTourneau to just 18.5% shooting from the floor on their way to a 84-33 victory Saturday in the Brownwood Coliseum.

This was HPU fourth blow-out win in four games which they are winning by a margin of 40.2 per game.

Howard Payne held LETU to only 10 field goals in the entire game, on the offensive HPU shot 50.8% from the floor.

Howard Payne's biggest first half lead was 27 with 3:33 left in the first on a jumper by Meia Daniels (Fort Worth). Halftime score, 43-20 HPU.

HPU extended that lead in the second as the Lady Jacket reserves played solid of the bench. Final score, 84-33 HPU.

HPU's Stacey Blalock (Magnolia) had a career high and led all scores with 23 points, she also had 10 rebounds with 2 blocks. Meia Daniels had 21 points in 23 minutes of action with 8 rebounds. Other HPU highlights- Kim Hoffman (Bloomington) with 12 points, Heather Hohertz (Priddy) with 6 steals, Molly Buker (Edgewood) with 7 assists, and Sarah Jockers (Boerne) 7 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Katrina Visina led LeTourneau with 12 points.

HPU will play on Monday traveling to Sul Ross State for a ASC West Division game.
