NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Yellow Jackets despite being up 41-40 at the half fell in the end to NCAA I Stephen F. Austin 89-63 Saturday on the road.
Craig Blackman (Houston) led the Jackets in scoring for the first time with 13 points, on 4 of 6 shooting, in 19 minutes of action. Blackman was 4 of 4 from the free-throw line.
HPU went into the halftime break with a 41-40 lead, but had no answer in the second half for the SFA offensive output as they had five players finish the game in double digits in scoring.
Senior guard Kendrick Johnson (Houston) also had 11 points for HPU.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Jan. 4 at home against Louisiana College. It will be 7:30 pm start.
