ALPINE, Texas - Howard Payne held the Lady Lobos of Sul Ross State to just 21.2% shooting on the night and the Lady Jackets posted a large win 66-33 Monday night at the Gallego Center.

Howard Payne opened with a 15-2 run to start the contest. The Lady Lobos pulled within 4 at the 6:53 first half mark after a 3-point jumper by Jeanna Adams. Both teams went to the break with the Lady Jackets sporting a 29-18 advantage.

It was all Lady Jackets in the second half as HPU broke out to a 14-1 run. The Lady Jackets led by as much as 37. As a team Sul Ross shot 21% from the field compared to HPU's 47%. The Lady Lobos made 8 of 11 free throws good for 61% while HPU went 14 for 23 for 61%.

Kim Hoffman(Bloomington, TX) led the assault for HPU with a double-double 17 points and 10 rebounds. Stacey Blalock(Magnolia, TX) also chipped in 13 points

Soli Quintanilla led Sul Ross with 8 points while Kym Kyzar posted 8 rebounds.

The Lady Jackets will be back at home this Thursday against Texas Lutheran at 5:30 pm.
