BROWNWOOD, Texas – On Friday, HPU won game one 6-3 on a walk-off home run by Tiffany Wolfe, but UMHB won 13-4 in game two. On Saturday, The Lady Jackets won 2-0 in game three but fell in game four by a 9-5 tally. HPU is 7-11 overall and 5-3 in the ASC. UMHB is now 11-11 overall and 8-4 in the ASC.

HPU took a 2-0 lead on a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the second inning. UMHB's RBI single in the top of the third cut it to 2-1 and a passed ball in the top of the fifth by HPU scored an UMHB run to tie the game. A solo home run gave UMHB a 3-2 lead before the Lady Jackets put the four spot on the board in the seventh. Jill McLaughlin's RBI single tied the game at three and Tiffany Wolfe blasted a two-out, three-run homer to end the game. Lindsey Liles took the loss for UMHB to fall to 4-4 on the year. Wolfe earned the win on the mound for HPU. HPU's Wolfe was 2-4 with three RBI for Howard Payne.

UMHB scored early in game two only to let HPU back in the game. UMHB then exploded for eight runs in the last three innings to cruise to a 13-4 win.

UMHB could not come up with an answer for two early HPU runs in a 2-0 game one loss in game three on Saturday. Lindsey Liles took the loss for UMHB giving up just two hits in four innings. She struck out three and walked six. Tiffany Wolfe threw a complete-game, four-hitter for HPU to get the win. The Yellow Jackets scored their runs in the third and fourth innings on Wolfe's single and Candra McKee's sacrifice fly.

UMHB scored two in the first and three more in the third and then put the Yellow Jackets at arms length with a pair of late two-run innings in a 9-5 game four victory on Saturday. UMHB led 5-1 before the Lady Jackets scored three runs in the bottom of the third to close to 5-4. The UMHB then scored two in the fifth and two more in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Jennifer Middleton took the loss for HPU after giving up five runs in two innings. UMHB's Ashley Edwards threw a complete-game for the win.
