BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Lady Jackets split with the Cowgirls of Hardin-Simmons in day two of their series on Saturday at Jacket field.
In game one, HSU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first and then added another score in the fourth.
The Lady Jackets answered back in the bottom of the sixth with two scores on a Amber Driggers single and a single by Chinesia Rhinehart.
The Cowgirls scored three more in the next inning the take the win 6-2.
HPU's Tiffany Wolfe picked up the loss and HSU's Arin Spence got the win.
Game two started out like game one with HSU scoring two runs in the first and adding another in the top of the third. The Lady Jackets did not let that keep them down as they got their first run in the bottom of the inning on Amber Driggers reaching on a fielder's choice scoring Lauren Bollich.
HPU then added two more in the sixth and three more runs in the seventh to take home the 6-3 win.
Jill McLaughlin got the complete game win for HPU, while HSU's Kati Winkler was given the loss.
