BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Lady Jackets used solid defensive play to down the Lady Tornados of Concordia University-Austin 3-0 (30-23,30-22,30-27) in the Brownwood Coliseum on Tuesday night.

HPU played solid both offensively and defensively despite being down Sr OH Sandra Fish (Burnet) who was out with a wrist injury. Howard Payne posted 64 total digs in three games, the highest for a three game match for the Lady Jackets this season, and 37 kills in three games.

Howard Payne led most of the match except for a short time early on in the third game.

Jr. OH Katie Preuss (Comfort) had a stellar game offensively with 16 kills on 35 attempts with only one error.

So. Setter Patricia Brown (Tomball) continued to play well with 29 assists on 96 attempts.

The Lady Jackets improve to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in ASC play. CUA falls to 1-12 overall and 0-5 in ASC play.

The Lady Jackets will play on the road this Friday at Hardin-Simmons in Abilene at 7:00 pm.
