SEGUIN, Texas – Eighth-ranked Howard Payne remained perfect on the season with an 88-40 road victory over Texas Lutheran, Saturday afternoon in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
Meia Daniels (Fort Worth) led Howard Payne with a season high 32 points in 25 minutes action. Daniels had 23 at the half and made 13 of her 18 total shot attempts. Daniels also added eight rebounds, three assists, five steals and a block.
Howard Payne shot 70 percent in the first half and 57.1 percent in the second half for a game shooting percentage of 63.8. The Lady Jackets forced 28 TLU turnovers.
Stacey Blalock (Magnolia) was the only other HPU player in double figures. She had 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Twelve different players scored for the Lady Jackets.
Madilyn Caran and Mariah Smith each scored 8 points for TLU. Caran and Erin Moore led the Bulldogs in rebounds. Each player had eight.
The Lady Jackets play again on Monday in the Brownwood Coliseum versus Sul Ross State at 3:00 p.m.
