CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College women's soccer team scored early and often to defeat Howard Payne.  The Lady Choctaws (9-5, 7-3 ASC) put up 11 goals in a win over the Lady Jackets (2-10-1, 2-7-1 ASC).

Mississippi College opened up the game with a goal from Kellie Kirby in the third minute to take an early 1-0 lead.  Poor field conditions led to a sloppy game and led to an injury for HPU goalkeeper Nicole Pena. The score at the end of one period was 5-0 Mississippi.

Mississippi College in the second half came out with two quick goals to take a 7-0 lead.  The Lady Jackets got on the scoreboard in the 66th minute when Susana Chavarria scored.  HPU scored again in the 77th minute on an unassisted goal by Nelly Ruiz.

MC scored four more goals in the game to pick up the final score of 11-2.

The Lady Jackets will play Louisiana College on Saturday in Pineville.
