SHERMAN, Texas – The Howard Payne Lady Jackets go 1-1 on day one of the Austin College tournament.

In game one HPU won in four games 1-4 (33-31, 30-16, 28-30, 30-25) over LeTourneau University.

HPU highlights from the match included Megan Pick's 18 kills, a .341 attack pct. She also had 14 digs and 3 blocks. Sydney Bryant added 16 kills and 13 digs followed closely by Katie Preuss' 12 kills and 4 blocks.

Trish Brown dished out 52 assists along with 16 digs and 2 blocks. Aja Brunner had a team-high 6 blocks and Missy Dennis added 3 aces and 30 digs.

In game two, HPU lost 0-3 (15-30, 17-30, 23-30) to East Texas Baptist.

Megan Pick had 7 Kills and 5 blocks. Jessica Hutton added 7 kills with 10 digs. Setter Trish Brown had 21 assists and Katie Preuss had 5 blocks.

The Lady Jackets will take on Mary Hardin-Baylor and Paul Quinn College tomorrow in day two of the tournament.
