Lady Jackets Top Concordia 1-0

AUSTIN, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jackets outshot Concordia 24-7 and secured a 1-0 victory Thursday night in American Southwest Conference action.

Just before the end of the first period, Howard Payne's Felicia Pena found the back of the net on an unassisted shot. It was all the Lady Jackets needed to secure the 1-0 win.

Felicia Pena took 8 total shots in the match, 4 were on goal.

HPU outshot Concordia 24-7 overall and 8 to 2 in shots on goal. HPU took the only corner kick for both teams in the match.

Nicole Pena played in goal for HPU and recorded 2 saves in 90 minutes.

Howard Payne improved to 2-6-1 overall, while Concordia fell to 2-6-0 on the season.

The Lady Jackets will play again on Saturday as they travel to Tyler to take on the University of Texas - Tyler.
