BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jacket tennis team remained undefeated in American Southwest Conference play with a 9-0 victory over McMurry University, but the Howard Payne men's team fell 2-7 to McMurry at the Nabers Tennis Center on Tuesday.
For the HPU women, the key match was Cathleen Touisithiphonexay's win in three sets over McMurry's Veronica Quiroz. Cathleen dropped the first set 4-6, then rallied to take the second 7-5 and win the third 12-10.

On the men's side, the Jackets were unable to get things going as a team and fell 2-7 to McMurry. HPU's Ricky Gonzalez had a good day winning his doubles match with partner Chris Sutton 8-4 over McM's Adam Cherry and Brandon Armour. Ricky also won his singles match 6-4, 7-6(7-4) over McM's Ross Bennett.
