IRVING, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jacket softball team committed nine errors in their two games at the 2007 American Southwest Conference Softball Tournament. Howard Payne fell 6-1 to #2 Louisiana College and 9-0 to #9 Mississippi College at Southwest Park this weekend.

The Lady Jackets came into the 2007 American Southwest Conference Tournament with the best record in Howard Payne history, 28-10, but soon learned that no one at this time of the year is an easy opponent.

In game one, the Lady Jackets kept the game close until errors led to a four-run inning by Louisiana College in the bottom of the fifth. Howard Payne committed four errors in the game and fell 6-1.

In game two, HPU committed five errors and gave up 5 runs in the top of the sixth. Lady Jackets fell in a run-rule, 9-0.

HPU senior pitcher, Jill McLaughlin, was named to the all-tournament team.
