BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne women's soccer team got their first win of 2007 with a 1-0 victory over ASC opponent East Texas Baptist University at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field on Friday.

HPU goal keeper Nicole Pena posted her first shutout as a Lady Jacket recording 9 saves.

ETBU had their chances to score with 10 shot on goal in the game, while HPU only had 4 shot on goal. The Lady Jackets only needed one to go in.

The only goal of the game came on a shot by HPU's Dianne Bolanos in the 5th minute which bounced over ETBU's goal keeper's hands and found the back of the net.

Howard Payne will play again on Saturday in another ASC match-up playing host to LeTourneau at home.
