HPU Women Fall To Wayland

PLAINVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne women's soccer team had a 2-0 halftime lead but fell in the end 4-2 to Wayland Bapist on Friday afternoon.

First half goals by Felicia Pena and Liz McDonald-Smith were both unassisted and gave HPU a 2-0 halftime lead.

The long trip played out in the second period for the Lady Jackets as they gave up 4 unanswered goals.

HPU was outshot 15 to 44 in the match. Nicole Pena was in goal to entire match for the Lady Jackets and recorded 15 saves.

HPU will play again at home on Tuesday versus the University of Texas-Permian Basin.
