CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College Choctaws extended their home winning streak to 22 games Saturday with an 83-67 win over the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets.
The Yellow Jackets fell to 7-6 overall and 4-5 in the ASC, while Mississippi College improved to 9-3 on the season and 6-2 in ASC action
The Choctaws won the battle on the glass, out-rebounding HPU 41-28. MC finished with just nine turnovers to 17 for the Yellow Jackets.
MC built a 38-28 halftime lead and controlled the game in the second half, never leading by fewer than eleven points in the final 13 minutes of the contest.
Howard Payne was led by Tom Hermann with 26 points on 10-13 shooting from the field. Lee Scott and Brock Woods each finished with 16 points.
MC had with five players reach double figure points led by Tyler Winford with 16. Kiki Christmas (14), Andre Coleman (12), Prince Trotter (11) and Bryan Johnson (10) all scored in double digits.
Howard Payne plays at home next Thursday against Texas Lutheran University at 7:30 PM.
