Lady Jackets Cruise To 3-1 Victory

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jacket had three different players score in a 3-1 victory over Huston-Tillotson University in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.

Takenda Cotton got the Lady Jackets on the scoreboard just 52 seconds into the game on an assist from Kelli Wentworth.

Wentworth got her goal in the 6th minute of the first period on a pass from Lauren Hankins. Susana Chavarria scored in the 31st minute and Wentworth this time dished out the assst. Howard Payne held a 3-0 halftime advantage.

Huston-Tillotson did get a goal in the game in the 65th minute by Giselle Martinez and Famatta Biomah was awarded the asssit.

The Lady Jackets improve to 7-6-0 overall, while Huston-Tillotson falls to 2-6-2 on the season.

Due to field conditions at Citizens National Bank Field the game was moved to Gordon Wood Stadium.

The Lady Jackets will play next on Friday at home versus Mississippi College at Citizens National Bank Field.
