Jackets Fall to Mississippi College 1-3

Jacob Shuttleworth (#9) gets HPU's only goal against MC

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets lose a tough one to Mississippi College 1-3 in American Southwest Conference action at Citizens National Bank field.

The Jackets got out shot 20 to 7, with only one of are shots on goal. Howard Payne's goal keeper Francisco Medina came up with five saves.

Mississippi College scores two of their three goals in the first period. The goals were made by Benjamin Cross and Jack Craven. Phillip Buffington scores their third and final goal in the eighteenth minute of the second period.

Jacob Shuttleworth gets Howard Payne on the board scoring in the eighteenth minute of the second period. Brice Reusink had the assist.

The Yellow Jackets fall to 6-5-0 overall and 4-5-1 in ASC play while MC improves to 9-2-2 overall and 6-2-1 in ASC play.

The Jackets will play their next game at McMurry University on October 24th at 3:00 pm.
