HPU Still In Playoff Hunt With Loss

ABILENE, Texas – The Howard Payne Lady Jacket soccer team was outshot 4-31 and fell to American Southwest Conference power Hardin-Simmons 0-6 Saturday afternoon. 

Howard Payne managed only 2 shots on goal against the Cowgirls. Now only were the shots in HSU's favor but HPU committed 11 fouls to HSU's 6, and had no corner kicks in the match. 

Allison Gudmundson(5 saves) started in goal for HPU with Rachael Hardegree(4 saves) playing the second period. 

HPU falls to 9-7 overall and 7-4 in ASC action, while HSU improves to 10-3-3 overall and 9-0-1 in ASC play. 

The Lady Jackets will play at home on Tuesday in non-conference action versus the University of Dallas
