HPU Clips The Lady Eagles

CLARKSVILLE, Ark - The Howard Payne women's soccer team outshot the University of the Ozarks Lady Eagles 19-6 on their way to a 2-1 victory in American Southwest Conference action Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Jackets had 12 shots on goal compared to Ozarks 4 in the game as well as outshoting them 19 to 6 overall.

Ozarks scored first in the 37th minute when Maldonado found Spruiell for the goal. 

Howard Payne got both of their goals in the second period first when Ashli McCutchen found Susana Chavarria in the 64th minute to tie the game.

The Lady Jackets got the game winner in the 83rd minute on a Takenda Cotton goal. Assist was from Kelli Wentworth.

Howard Payne improves to 6-5-0 overal and 5-2 in the ASC, while Ozarks falls to 4-8-0 overall and 2-4-0 in ASC action.

The Lady Jackets will play again on Saturday at the University of Texas - Dallas, it will be a 1:00 pm start.
