SEGUIN, Texas – The Howard Payne University Lady Jackets forced 34 Texas Lutheran University turnovers on their way to an 88-34 victory at Memorial Gymnasium.

 

The Howard Payne Lady Jackets held Texas Lutheran to just 28% shooting in the game. HPU connected on 51.7% of their shots.

 

The game was never in question for Howard Payne as the Lady Jackets held a 49-15 halftime advantage. Kim Hoffman had 17 points in the first half for the Lady Jackets.

 

Howard Payne started the second half off with a 15-2 run. HPU cruised to an 88-34 win to improve their record to 24-0 overall and 20-0 in ASC action. HPU earns the ASC West Division title with the win.

 

Texas Lutheran falls to 0-24 overall and 0-20 in ASC play.

 

Kim Hoffman led all scorers with 23 points on 7 of 9 shooting, she was also 9 of 9 from the free-throw line. Meia Daniels followed with 21 and Stacey Blalock and Elaine Hobbs added 14 points each.

 

TLU was led by Courtney Haskell with 9 points. Maddy Caran and Brittany Burton each had 8.

 

Howard Payne will travel to Kerrville on Saturday to take on Schreiner University at 1:00 PM.
