HPU Wins Battle Of The Yellow Jackets

LONGVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jackets battled the Yellow Jackets of LeTourneau University and came away with a 1-0 victory in American Southwest Conference action on Friday.

Allison Gudmundson scored her first collegiate goal on the 69th minutes to lead Howard Payne to the 1-0 victory. The goal came off a corner kick by Susana Chavarria who was credited with the assist.

Howard Payne outshot Letourneau 20 to 10 in the game. HPU took 5 conner kicks in the game, LeTourneau took none.

Rachael Hardegree recorded 6 saves in the game. Howard Payne improves to 4-3-0 overall and 3-0 in ASC action, while LeTourneau falls to 3-5-0 overall, 1-1-0 in ASC play.

Howard Payne will play East Texas Baptist University on Saturday in Marshall, Texas
