HPU Improves To 5-2

TYLER, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jackets improved to 5-2 overall with wins over Texas College and Ottawa University at the University of Texas - Tyler volleyball tournament.

On day one of the two day tournament the HPU Lady Jackets posted 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-16) and 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-14, 25-19) wins over Texas College and Ottawa University respectively. 

Against Texas college HPU was led by Megan Pick and Sydney Bryant with 9 kills each. Pick also had a .533 attack percentage. Hammond added 10 digs while Tamika Heline had 5 kills and 6 aces. Amy Crouch had 15 assists and Patricia Brown had 14 assists.

In match two of the day versus Ottawa University, the Lady Jackets were led  by Sydney Bryant with 14 kills and a .263 attack percentage. Tamika Heline added 10 kills, 12 digs, and 4 blocks. Amy Crouch and Patricia Brown had 17  and 19 assists respectively. Kristin Hammond played solid defensively with 11 digs.

On Saturday the Lady Jackets will take on Bacone College and Rhodes College.
