Lady Jackets Shutout Louisiana College

Lauren Hankins scored two goals and had one assists versus Louisiana College

PINEVILLE, LA - The Howard Payne Lady Jacket soccer team downed Louisiana College 3-0 in American Southwest Conference action Thursday evening.

HPU midfielder Lauren Hankins got two goals and one assist in the 3-0 shutout. Hankins goals came in the 19th and 58th minutes. Leslie Jones and Shannon Costello recorded the assists on the goals.

The first goal of the game was scored by Howard Payne sophomore Amanda Jenkins in the 8th minute. Hankins assisted on the goal.

The Lady Jackets outshot Louisiana College 17 to 3 in the game. HPU keeper Kaitlyn Kelm played all 90 minutes in goal and tallied three saves in the shutout.

Howard Payne improves to 6-5-1 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play, while Louisiana College falls to 1-14 overall.

HPU travels to Mississippi College on Saturday for another ASC matchup.
