Jackets Down MC 3-2

CLINTON, Miss - The Howard Payne men's soccer team got two second half goals to defeat Mississippi College 3-2 in American Southwest Conference action Saturday afternoon.

The Jackets and Choctaws were tied at 1-1 at the midway point. Shane Cazad got HPU on the board in the 32nd minute.

Jaime Benitez scored both goals in the second half for HPU. Benitez tied the game in the 77th minute and then scored the game winner in the 86th minute.

Howard Payne outshot Mississippi College 18-8 in the game.

7-6 overall and 6-4 in ASC play while MC falls to 9-3-3, 4-2-3 in ASC action. The Jackets will be in action next Friday and Saturday at home versus McMurry and Hardin-Simmons.
