Lady Jackets Defeat Sul Ross State 5-4

ALPINE, Texas – The Howard Payne women's tennis team posted a 5-4 win over Sul Ross State University on Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.

The Lady Jackets had a tough match, but were able to pull out the win. HPU were playing without our Kori Stark and had to make a last minute substitution, not only in the singles, but the doubles line-up, as well.

“I was very pleased with the way the girl's adjusted and battled to get the win,” said head coach Sally Brown. “We had a close match in line 3 doubles, winning in a tie-breaker, that could have easily gone the other way.”
