Lady Jackets Headed To Conference Tournament

RICHARDSON, Texas –– Louisiana College posted a league mark of 17-2 to win the American Southwest Conference East Division title for the first time and also earned the right to host the 2010 ASC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament at H.O. West Fieldhouse in Pineville, La., beginning Friday and lasting through Sunday (Feb. 26-28).

The entire eight-team, single elimination event will be available for fans through free live video streaming with audio provided by College TV Ticket (collegetvticket.com). LC will have a tournament page on www.lcwildcats.net and the conference will have a “Tournament Central” page on www.ASCsports.org where the links to video can also be accessed as well as those for live stats, box scores, game recaps, photos and updated brackets.

Three-time defending conference champion Howard Payne (20-5) is the West's No. 2 seed and at 5 p.m. on Friday will take on Mississippi College (19-6). HPU also won the ASC title in 2005 and hoisted the national championship trophy in 2008. MC has appeared in 11 ASC tournaments, which is tops in the East Division.

The semifinals are scheduled to tip off Saturday at 2 p.m. (UMHB-ETBU winner vs. UTD-McM winner) and 4:30 p.m. (HPU-MC winner vs. LC-HSU winner), with the championship game coming Sunday at 2 p.m.
