Lady Jackets Tie UTD

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University women's soccer team tied the University of Texas at Dallas 1-1 in American Southwest Conference action on the road Thursday evening.

Howard Payne was able to gain the lead early in the second period on a goal by Haley Clanahan in the 59th minute. Clanahan received a pass from Lauren Hatcher and split the UTD defense to score.

UT Dallas tied the game in the 70th minute when Jean Francis fed Cassie Lydick to score. UTD outshot HPU 28 to 12 in the game.

HPU keeper Adrienne Walker recorded 11 saves in the game. UTD keeper Andrea Jones had six saves.
Howard Payne now stands at 2-3-3 overall and 1-2-2 in ASC play. UTD is nor 4-5-1 overall and 2-2-1 in ASC action.

Howard Payne will continue on their road trip and play the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, AR on Saturday.
