SHREVEPORT, LA - Kassey Nix scored the golden goal for Howard Payne University in a 3-2 overtime victory for the Lady Jackets over Centenary College Saturday afternoon.
 
After a scoreless first half, Howard Payne gained a 2-0 lead on goals by  Kerrie Ford and Shannon Castello. Ford scored in the 62nd minute on a Leslie Jones assist. Costello got her unassisted goal on a free kick in the 78th minute.

Centenary's Holden Penney scored two goals in the 81st and 86th minutes to tie the game and send it to overtime.

The Lady Jackets would then get the golden goal from Kassey Nix at the 100th minute mark on an assist from Costello.

Howard Payne improves to 9-4 overall and 7-3 in ASC play. Centenary now stands at 10-7-1 on the year.

The Lady Jackets will play their last home match of the year versus Southwestern University on Monday. It will be a 1:00 pm start and the Pink Out game for HPU supporting breast cancer awareness month.
