BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University Lady Jackets held Sul Ross State University to just 18 points and 26% shooting in the first half rolling to a 95-56 win over the Lady Lobos Saturday afternoon.

Howard Payne held a 49-18 lead at the break. The Lady Jackets forced 18 turnovers converting those into 26 points.

HPU improves to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in conference while Sul Ross falls to 2-7 overall and 1-6 in ASC play.

The HPU bench shined outscoring Sul Ross' 45-5 in the game. The Lady Jackets dominated the paint outrebounding Sul Ross 51-32 and scoring 50 to the Lady Lobos 22 points in the lane.

Roshonda Gayden led HPU with 17 points and seven rebounds. Dana Marrs followed with 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting.
Jasmin Thomas added 10 points, four assists and five steals. Kayla Scott was the leading scorer off the bench with nine on 3 of 5 shooting from behind the arc.

Krista Ford led Sul Ross with a game high 19 points and 10 rebounds. Candace Pollard had 15 and Alex Ramos added 10.

The Lady Jackets will travel to the University of Dallas on Tuesday for a non-conference game starting at 2:00 pm.
