Jackets Finish Out Season Against HSU

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University men's basketball team lost their final game of the year to Hardin Simmons University 88-76 at the Brownwood Coliseum Saturday.

The Jackets played HSU close in the first half but trailed 49-35 at the break. After HSU extended their lead to as much as 25 in the second half, Howard Payne chipped away at the lead but could not completely get back in the game falling 88-76.

HPU was out-rebounded 47-39 and had 28 turnovers. They shot 38 percent from the floor on 22 of 58 shooting.

Joshua Dada led the Jackets in scoring and had 18 points. Quentin Calloway followed with 14. Michael Thompson grabbed a game high 11 rebounds.

The leading scorer for HSU was Matt Addison with 38 points, six rebounds, and seven steals.

The Jackets finish the year 5-20 overall and 4-17 in conference. The HSU Cowboys go to 16-9 overall and 15-6 in the ASC.
