Lady Jackets Swept By UMHB

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball team posted a doubleheader sweep of Howard Payne University Saturday afternoon in Belton winning 3-0 and 3-1.

UMHB took game one 3-0 and won game two 3-1 to complete a four-game weekend sweep of the Lady Jackets.

Brittany Johnson, Katie Poerner and Tylene Middleton all recorded hits for the Lady Jackets on the day.

The Lady Jackets scored their only run of the day on when Poerner ground out scoring Evangelina Tellez from third who reached earlier on a walk.

Howard Payne falls to 2-16 overall and 0-4 in the ASC with the two losses. UMHB improves to 11-7 overall and 4-0 in ASC play with the two victories.

The Lady Jackets will play the first home games of the season on Monday with a double header against Schreiner University starting at 12:00 noon.
