Jackets Pick Up Non-Conference Win

DALLAS, Texas – The Howard Payne men's tennis team picked up a non-conference win over Central College 6-3 to improve to 5-2 overall on the year.

The Yellow Jackets took the #1 doubles 8-4 and the #3 doubles 8-6 to lead 2-1 early on. Edward Martinez easily won the #1 singles 6-4, 6-2 and Jeff Toyne in the #2 spot won with a 6-4, 6-0 result.

Luis Vallecillo and Johnny Aceves both won in the third set to secure the match 6-3 for Howard Payne.

Howard Payne is now at 5-2 overall on the year. They will have a non-conference match with Kansas Wesleyan University on the 22nd in Brownwood.
