Jackets Finish Season With Loss

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University men's tennis team finished the 2011 season with a 9-0 loss to the University of Texas at Dallas Saturday at the Nabers Tennis Center.

Howard Payne dropped all three doubles matches 8-4, 8-4, and 8-6. Raymond Borjas had the closest match during single play falling 6-4, 7-6(9-7) in the number three spot.

Senior Jeff Toyne lost in the number two singles spot 6-3, 6-1 and senior Shawn Hodge fell 6-4, 6-1 in the number five singles slot.

Howard Payne finishes the team season at 7-7 overall and 3-3 in ASC West Division play. UTD is at 10-4 overall and 3-2 in ASC East Division action.
