Lady Jackets Move To Even In Conference Play

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne women's tennis team improves to 2-2 in conference play with a 5-4 victory over Schreiner University Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Jackets found themselves down early only picking up the #1 doubles match 9-7.

Howard Payne battled hard in the singles action only dropping the #1 and #3 singles matches. Gabi Crunelle won #2 singles 6-4, 7-5, Emilee Stephens won #4 singles 6-4, 6-1, Whitney Turnacliff won #5 singles and 6-4, 6-2, and Samantha Guerrero won in the #6 singles spot 6-1, 6-4.

Howard Payne improves to 3-8 overall and 2-2 in conference action, while Schreiner falls to 4-13 overall and 1-2 in conference.

The Lady Jackets next home match will be on April 9th at 11:00 am versus the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
