Box Score
BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne women's soccer team outshot LeTourneau University 24-5 in a 3-1 conference victory for the Lady Jackets  Friday afternoon at Citizens National Bank Field.

Despite outshooting LeTourneau 13-3 in the first period, both teams played to a 0-0 tie at the break.

HPU continued to get open looks at the net in the second half but LeTourneau was able to slip a shot past the Lady Jacket defense. Letu was able to take advantage of a goal keeper miss-clear and chipped in the shot over the keeper's hand in the 63rd minute.

HPU from there would score three straight to secure the 3-1 victory. Leslie Jones started it off with a score off of a Shannon Costello free kick in the 66th minute. Lauren Wilmer then would net a deep shot from the left side in the 75th minute. It was Wilmer's first goal as a Lady Jacket. Rebecca Lamar then finished off a Lori Horn shot inside the box just four minutes later.

Adrienne Walker and Courtney Beene would share time in goal with Walker getting the start and the win. Walker recorded one save and Beene allowed the only LeTourneau goal. The HPU defense held Letu to just two shots on goal and five total for the game.

Howard Payne is now 5-7 overall and 5-4 in conference while LeTourneau falls to 1-14 overall. Howard Payne will play again at home on Saturday versus the University of Texas at Tyler starting at 1:00 pm. The HPU seniors will be recognized after the match.
