Volleyball Loses 3-1 To Concordia

AUSTIN, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-19,17-25,25-13,25-18) to nonference opponent Concordia University Texas Tuesday evening on the road.

After dropping the first set 25-19, the Lady Jackets rallied to claim the second 25-17. HPU had a .345 attack pct in the secons set. They would not hit that well the rest of the match dropping the next two sets 25-13 and 25-18.

It was the serving of Concordia that was the differnece as the Tornados recorded 16 service aces to just four for the Lady Jackets. 

Taylor Jordan led HPU with 10 kills along with seven digs. Jessica Guerra had 15 assists and Shelby Bridges finished with 22 digs.

Howard Payne is now 9-10 overall and 4-5 in conference play. Concordia stands at 9-10 overall and 4-5 in ASC action. Howard Payne will play next at the ASC Dig Pink Crossover II at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylorin Belton on Oct. 5-6.
