WSOC Falls 2-1 In 2OT

AUSTIN, Texas - Haley Clanahan scored in the 53rd minute to help force overtime but the Howard Payne women's soccer team would go on to lose 2-1 in the second overtime to Concordia University Texas Friday evening.

Concordia outshot the Lady Jackets 11-3 in the opening period on held 1-0 advanatge at the break after a score in the 28th minute.

Then the Lady Jakcets turned the tables and outshot Concordia 13-3 in the second period. Haley Clanahan would ward off her defender and score on a shot to the upper corner in the 53rd minute.

Concordia would score on a headed three minutes into the second overtime and claim the match 2-1.

Adrienne Walker recorded the loss for HPU playing the entire match in goal and gaining nine saves.

Howard Payne is now 5-9 overall and Concordia stands at 9-4-3 overall. The loss takes the Lady Jackets out of contention for an ASC playoff spot. HPU will finish out the regular season on Saturday in Belton versus the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at 5:00 pm
