Jacket Tennis Falls 8-1 To USW

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University tennis team was only able to pick up the number two singles point in an 8-1 loss to the Univesity of the Southwest Friday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

Ryan Prather defeated USW's Teddy Yelley 6-3, 2-6, 4-1, retired in number two singles action. All other HPU singles players fell in straight sets. Luis Vallecillo and Jacob Cadena put up a fight in the number two doubles match but fell 8-6 to Richard Southern and Alfred Mohan of USW.

The Howard Payne men's team wil play next on March 30th in Brownwood versus Sul Ross State University at 1:00 pm.
