Yellow Jacket Tennis Defeats Sul Ross 9-0

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team had no problem with Sul Ross State University winning 9-0 in conference action Friday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets easily won all of their matches except for the number two and three singles spots.  At number two singles, Ryan Prather defeated Tanar Ragan of Sul Ross 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 and at number three singles Luis Vallecillo defeated Sul Ross's Johnathon Cruz 3-6, 6-1, 6-0. Howard Payne won the number six singles and number three doubles by doubles by default.

The Jackets are now 4-6 overall on the year and will play tomorrow in Abilene versus St. Mary's University (TX) in a neutral site match at 10:00 am.
