BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne women's tennis team defeated Sul Ross State University 9-0 in conference action Friday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

Howard Payne took the top two doubles matches 8-1 and 8-0 to start the day. The Lady Jackets won the number three doubles by default. HPU won all the singles matches in straight sets only dropping four total points in singles action. HPU won the number five and six singles spots by default.

The Lady Jackets are now 3-10 overall on the year and will play tomorrow in Abilene versus St. Mary's University (TX) in a neutral site match at 10:00 am.
