Jackets Tennis Defeats Austin College

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team defeated Austin College 6-3 in non-conference action Saturday at the Nabers Tennis Center.

Howard Payne started the match by winning all three doubles 8-3, 8-5 and 8-3. HPU then finished off the match by taking the top three singles spots. Edward Martinez defeated Tyler Roush of AC 6-3, 6-2, Luis Vallecillo defeated James Taylor of AC 6-2, 7-5 and Jacob Cadena defeated Tarun Palapati of AC 6-2, 6-2.

The Jackets are now 7-8 overall. HPU will play next versus Hardin-Simmons in Abilene starting at 4:00 pm on April 18th.
