Women's Tennis Falls In Round One Of ASC

TYLER, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team loses 5-0 to the University of Texas at Dallas in round one of the 2012 American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament.

All three doubles matches were close to start the day. Howard Payne came out on the short end narrowly losing all three.  In the number one spot, Gabi Crunelle and Joan Burks fell 8-6, at number two Jenna Johnson and Larissa Lynskey lost 8-4 and in the third spot Emilee Stephens and Samantha Guerrero lost marrowly 9-7. HPU dropped the number one and two singles 6-0,6-1 and 6-1,6-0 to finish out the match.

The Lady Jackets went 4-2 in ASC West Division action to secure a spot in the American Southwest Conference tournament and finished the year at 7-15 overall.
