Jackets Tennis Wins 8-1 Over Schreiner

KERRVILLE, Texas – The Howard Payne men's tennis team picked up an 8-1 American Southwest Conference win Thursday against Schreiner University.

The Jackets started the match by sweeping all three doubles matches 8-6, 8-3, and 8-4. The closest singles match of the day was the number three spot with HPU's Luis Vallecillo defeating Matt Salazar 6-7 (9-11), 6-2, 10-7. The Jackets only dropped the number two single 6-2, 6-2.

Howard Payne is now 5-7 overall on the year and will travel to Abilene on April 10th to play McMurry University at 2:00 pm.
